Aussie Helpers

Our mission is to help farmers, farming families and communities survive through the tough times so they can thrive in the good. As one of Australia’s largest farming support charities, we’ve provided support directly to farmers for more than 21 years and created lasting connections with rural communities across Australia. We are led by our purpose—to help the heart of our country—and are driven every day to ensure farmers know that help is just a phone call away. We are open and flexible to responding to the unique needs that individual farmers, their families and rural communities face. We provide immediate help—wherever, whenever and however—farmers and farming communities need it, which makes us different to many other charities. We help 1,000s of farmers every year, whether it be providing animal feed, financial assistance, food hampers, fuel cards, laptops, school fee support, student tutoring, access to mental health services,

Children & Youth
Childhood Dementia Initiative

It's estimated that in Australia, 2 babies are born every week who will develop childhood dementia. Childhood dementia is so severe, that half of these children will die before they reach the age of 10. Someone dies from childhood dementia every 4 days. There are no cures. Not only are the lives of children with dementia short, they are extremely difficult. Treatments and cures are needed to both improve the length and quality of life for children with dementia and their families. Our work spans 3 program areas to get kids with dementia the treatments, support and inclusion they urgently need. Progress in all of these areas is necessary to ensure: - Treatments and cures are available for children with dementia - Families have access to equitable & quality care - Childhood dementia is a health policy priority It's time for change. We can’t let these children and their families be forgotten any longer. Thank you for your generous support.

The Save The Bilby Fund

There is more to ‘why save bilbies’ than the fact that they look amazing, they have adorable ears and beautiful silky soft fur. Firstly, bilby ancestors have been found as fossilised remains dating back 15 million years – which makes them a very special species. They have been an intrinsic part of the landscape across 70% of the Australian mainland for all that time. From the time Europeans arrived, bilbies stretched from the Great Dividing range in the east to the Gascoyne coast in the west. Yet in the last 100 years, they have been pushed to the brink of extinction as a direct result of colonisation, change of land use, population growth, and introduced non-native species. The bilby is also an animal at the heart of Australia’s First People’s culture and is a significant creature present in many dreamtime stories and cave art. Secondly, bilbies are a scientific ‘flagship’ species. This means that their protection is even more important because their survival in turn increases

Medical Pantry

Medical Pantry is an Australian Charity that rescues surplus high-quality unused medical supplies and equipment and distributes it to communities and organisations in need it. Animals like little "Jasper" urgently need ongoing care from compassionate wildlife carers in Far North Queensland after Cyclone Jasper's recent impact. Despite losing everything, carers' unwavering dedication to these animals persists. Sadly, the demand for supplies has surpassed availability. Responding swiftly, Medical Pantry volunteers packed and sent approximately 60kg of crucial medical resources to support tireless carers. Although these supplies were generously donated, a critical hurdle looms – a $500 Australia Post bill that urgently requires your support. Your contribution can significantly impact ensuring these vital supplies reach the animals and carers in need. By supporting us, you play a crucial role in sustaining the ongoing care and rehabilitation of these vulnerable creatures.

The Men's Table

The Men's Table is a grassroots community organisation that has been inviting men to connect & talk over a simple meal once a month since 2019. It helps more men build meaningful male friendships & connections by creating safe places to share, overcoming the stigma that “men don’t talk”. Navigating the ups & downs of life can be tough to do alone or without someone you can share the load with. By meeting once a month for dinner & a chat with the same group of guys, friendship and support grows. Some men can find it hard to communicate with their peers. In this environment they know what they say is confidential, they won’t be judged & they can be heard. 75% of all suicides in Australia are boys & men, and traditional masculine norms such as being stoic & self-reliant are not helpful or healthy. With Tables in every State and Territory, the Men’s Table are building on their motto ‘Healthy Men, Healthy Masculinities, Healthy Communities' with every group of local men they meet.

The Survivor Hub

The Survivor Hub is a survivor-led, not-for-profit organisation based on Gadigal Land in Sydney, Australia. We support people who have been impacted by sexual assault. We host in-person and online peer support groups, called ‘MeetUps’. Our in-person MeetUps are held in multiple locations throughout NSW and Victoria, and our online MeetUps are attended by survivors around the world. At MeetUps, survivors can connect with each other to ask questions, express concerns, vent, learn and heal. MeetUps are safe spaces and exist to assure survivors that they aren’t alone and offer a sense of community through the highs and lows of their healing journeys. Climate For Change

Climate for Change is a volunteer-powered not-for-profit that empowers Australians to participate in democratic dialogue and advocate for effective climate action. Although the majority of Australians are concerned about climate change and want the government to take significant action, many people feel alone in their concerns, disconnected from communities taking action, and unable to influence systemic change. That’s why we’re building the groundswell of support and action that will compel our leaders to take the climate action we need. Personal and social change happens when we talk to people we know and trust. When we begin to recognise climate change as a key aspect of our personal and shared identities, our perspectives and priorities shift, and this can enable meaningful climate action. We equip people with the right tools, resources, and a sense of agency, so they can step up, engage with their networks in meaningful conversations, and build climate action communities.

SHINE For Kids

SHINE for Kids supports children and young people exposed to the criminal justice system. At any one time, there are more than 43,000 Australian children experiencing parental incarceration. The "invisible victims", these children experience significant psychological trauma due to overlapping challenges including family breakdown, living disruptions, instability, stigma, social isolation and distress from being separated from a loved one. They face higher rates of school disengagement, drop out, developmental delays, negative health and behavioural outcomes and are six times as likely to enter the justice system themselves. Founded in 1982, SHINE for Kids provides vital support to these vulnerable children and young people. Our holistic, early-intervention programs provide positive opportunities and trauma-informed support to reduce the likelihood of these children transitioning into child protection or justice systems, helping to avoid family fragmentation and disadvantage.

Australian River Restoration Centre

The ARRC is a 15-year-old charity that restores rivers and empowers others to do the same. Many of the Australian rivers we love and depend on are deteriorating. With a changing climate, this is threatening our drinking water, crucial habitat for our native plants and animals, and our wellbeing. By donating to the work we do, you are joining us in: • Working with landowners to achieve clean and safe drinking water. This includes stabilising riverbanks, managing stock, and revegetating so that water quality is protected from sediment and other pollutants. • Protecting and restoring riverbank corridors so that they provide habitat and refuge for native fish, birds, animals and people with a changing climate. • Being a voice for our rivers to ensure that they continue to nurture our health, wellbeing and connection to nature. Thank you for considering us as a charity worth supporting.

Mentoring Men

Mentoring Men supports adult men who are experiencing challenges, feelings of distress and loneliness by providing free, long-term, one-to-one life mentoring with a trained volunteer Mentor. Through non-judgmental support and encouragement, our program focuses on proactive prevention by engaging with men who need help before they spiral into crisis. There is a significant lack of early intervention programs in place that help men to address issues throughout their lives that impact their mental health and wellbeing. 75% of suicides in Australia are men, yet most suicide prevention funding supports services that are more targeted at preventing female suicide; or ignore the differences in men and female help-seeking behaviours. Too often men adhere to a culture of remaining silent about their mental health challenges, a problem that contributes directly to the high rates of male suicide experienced by our communities. Our Mentors ensure that No Man Walks Alone.

Sight For All provides the expertise to combat treatable blindness in areas of need. Sight For All has been delivering eye health projects in Australia and low-middle income countries around the world since 2009. Half of the world’s blindness is due to cataract and a lack of glasses. Since 1946, Sydney Dogs & Cats Home has cared for Sydney’s lost abandoned and neglected pets. As Sydney's only charity pound and community facility, we open our doors to thousands of pets each year, servicing multiple council areas and helping over a million Sydneysiders. At Sydney Dogs & Cats Home, we support the Getting to Zero Movement and we strive to rehome every healthy and treatable animal that comes through our doors. We’re proud to say we never place a time limit on any re-homable animal awaiting adoption.

LGBTIQA+
LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Foundation

More than 60% of LGBTQ people have experienced domestic, family or intimate partner violence and abuse in their lifetime. Sadly, despite the prevalence, LGBTQ people are less likely to identify domestic or family violence in their relationships, less likely to report it to the police or seek support from services, and are far less likely to find support services that meet their specific needs. We are losing too many lives and too many others are suffering in silence. The LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Foundation is committed to helping end domestic violence in LGBTQ+ communities through our awareness campaigns, education programs and reducing barriers to reporting abuse and accessing support. We know that visibility is the key. By cultivating a culture of awareness, we can create real and meaningful change. Our mission is to ensure everyone – no matter their sexuality or gender identity – feels seen and believed and receives safe and inclusive support.

LGBTIQA+
Out For Australia

Out For Australia's (OFA) mission is to empower LGBTQIA+ people to thrive at work in the formative stages of their career. Despite younger generations being more likely to identify as LGBTQIA+ and first coming out younger, they are the least likely to be out at work. The transition from education to the workplace sees many choosing to go back into the closet. Only 24.5% of LGBTQIA+ people aged 18-24 years in 2020 were out to everyone they work with, less than half compared to those over 35. Workplaces have a vital role to play in changing this narrative, and so do we. Since our founding in 2013, OFA has remained true to our purpose of providing support, role models and mentoring for young, and inspiring LGBTQIA+ people across the country as they navigate their way through the early stages of their career. We continue to bring the community together, offering inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ community and allies to connect and develop skills.
