ICAN Australia

ICAN is a coalition of non-governmental organisations in one hundred countries promoting adherence to and implementation of the United Nations Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, including by Australia. This agreement is the first global treaty to ban nuclear weapons and all activities related to them. It makes nuclear weapons illegal alongside landmines, cluster munitions, chemical and biological weapons. Founded in Melbourne, ICAN was awarded the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize.
